Presented his father’s 1984 Ibanez (RS 530) on Christmas Day 2004, then eight-year-old Johnny began playing guitar. Johnny’s father taught Johnny for almost a year before bringing him to Dan Leonard.

Dan is one of the Washington area’s most accomplished guitarists and a long-time friend of Johnny's father and mother. Dan's musical influence is clearly visible in Johnny's style and technique.

Johnny spends his time practicing, writing, recording, performing (some), and playing with his church's praise team on Sunday mornings. When not playing guitar, he does what any 13-year-old boy does -- forget to mow the lawn, forget to take out the trash, and forget to do his school work.

Johnny has chosen to follow the Lord Jesus Christ boldly and recognizes that his gift comes from the God of the Bible. As long as the Lord allows, Johnny will strive to glorify God with his guitar.

Johnny is home-schooled and the second-born of seven eight.
